Replacement of a filtering element of the air filter

It is necessary to replace filtering element of the air filter of the engine only in that case when it is polluted. Under normal conditions operation the interval between replacements makes to 100.000 km. The filtering element should not be cleared gasoline or to oil. It is not necessary to blow also the filter the compressed air.


Petrol engines:

 REMOVAL

1 Open clips-1 covers of the filter.

2 Slightly raise around a filter cover.

3 Lift a cover of the filter and take out filtering element-1 (address to an accompanying illustration).

4 Wipe the case of the filter a damp rag.


 INSTALLATION

1 Insert into the filter case a new filtering element.
2 Put into place a cover and fix its clips.


The diesel engine 320d

 REMOVAL

1 Remove an element of the air filter of ventilation, heating and the conditioner, address to Section Replacement of an element of the filter of air of salon.

2 Open the cable channel at the bottom part of the case of the filter-2 and take out a cable.

3 Turn out bolts-1 and remove the bottom part of the case of the filter-2.
4 Uncover apertures for filling with oil.

5 Turn away bolts-1, remove facing of the engine-2.

6 Turn away screws-1 and uncover the air filter at a head of cylinders. On an accompanying illustration on both left screws face keys are visible.

7 Take out back filtering element. Wipe the case of the filter a damp rag.


 INSTALLATION

1 Establish in the filter case a new filtering element. The back holder on an illustration shows downwards.

2 Fix on a head of cylinders a cover of the air filter. Instructions: the External bolt of fastening between a box of the air filter and a wall of an impellent compartment to wrap inconveniently. It is recommended to fix at first a filter cover without a filtering element to understand, how the specified bolt is established. Then establish filtering element and fix a cover at first the specified bolt.
3 Fix soaking up air hose and engine facing.
4 Screw a cover of an aperture for заливания oils.
5 Fix the bottom part воздухосборной boxes.
6 Lay a cable in the cable channel at the bottom part of the case of the filter. Close the cable channel.
7 Establish into place an element of the air filter of ventilation, heating and the conditioner, address to Section Replacement of an element of the filter of air of salon.
